Why subscribe?

Pop the Culture Pill is an effort to bring fresh as well as curated content on society, culture, politics and pop culture to readers who value independent voices. Over the past couple of months, stuck at home, I found myself reading more blogs and newsletters than ever. It made me realise there are a great many voices out there, that have great things to say about life and the human condition. And that no one experience is similar to the other, yet they often seem so relatable.

I felt the pain in their poetry, love and anger, too. I laughed at their jokes. They inspired me, and I grew more confident of my identity and my voice. It’s only fitting that I give back what I learnt from my reading and viewing experiences, not only during the pandemic but throughout my life.

Your subscription would mean that my voice will not be cursed to drift in an empty space without any meaning. It would mean that I was able to bring you some sort of comfort and you, joy to me.

P.S. I am a cinephile, particularly of Asian cinema, so if you like Johnnie To, Tsui Hark, Takashi Miike or Wong Kar-wai, I see a bond already developing.
